Sinks Canyon trail highlighted by national publication in list of ‘can’t miss’ hikes
(Lander, Wyo.) – The Lander area’s outdoor recreation assets are no stranger to getting shout-outs in outdoor publications, and most recently national publication American Profile included a Sinks Canyon State Park trail in a list of “10 Trails Every Hiker Should Tackle.”
The four mile Canyon Trial inside the state park made the number 3 spot on the list. “Inspired to someday hike sections of the Continental Divide Trail?” states the article from last month. “This four-mile day hike in similar terrain takes you through sagebrush meadows, aspen and pine groves, and over glacial moraines.”
The Canyon Trail is a loop that leaves from the Sinks Canyon Campground that follows the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie for a little while before climbing a portion of the southern wall of the canyon.
The list of trails, which are “can’t miss trails for hobby hikers,” spans the entire country, highlighting spots in Oregon, Louisana, Arizona and more.
