Mayor saddened by loss of three town pioneers; Their community contributions recognized

(Riverton, Wyo.) – At the conclusion of this week’s Riverton City Council meeting, Mayor Ron Warpness suggested that anyone interested in knowing about the people who came to Riverton and helped with the development of the city should read three obituaries that were posted by County10.com. “The lives of these three individuals exemplified how Riverton became to be,” the mayor said. “Their lives speak of the kind of people who came here.”

The mayor said the city is losing its pioneers more and more each day, which he said caused him sadness. The three residents referenced by the mayor are Norris “Nort”  Axthelm, Aletha R. Boyd and Otho J. Kisling.

I join with Ron in his sadness….my life was certainly better for having known these fine people. They loved Riverton and their lives were a testament to that. I will miss them but have every assurance of meeting them again someday!
