Wind gust of 63 mph hits Lander; St. Stephens, County Fairgrounds in path of storm

(Lander, Wyo.) – The National Weather Service reported a peak wind gust of 63 mph at Lander’s Hunt Field Airport at 2:30 this afternoon as a storm cell moved through the area. The NWS has issued a special weather statement about the storm:

EXTENDING FROM HWY JCT 287 AND 132 TO U.S. HWY 287 MILE MARKER
70...AND MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH. AROUND 225 PM MDT...THE LANDER
AIRPORT REPORTED A WIND GUST OF 63 MPH.

HAZARD...60 TO 65 MPH WIND GUSTS.
