WHP investigating Tuesday evening’s two vehicle wreck outside of Lander

(Lander, Wyo.) – Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers are still investigating a two vehicle wreck that occurred on Highway 287/789 near Lyons Valley Road outside of Lander yesterday evening.

WHP Lt. Tom Adams said at about 6:35 p.m., Lander resident Brenda Kietlinski was southbound when for unknown reasons her Mitzubishi Montero crossed the center line, sideswiping a Wyoming Department of Transportation Ford F550 that was headed northbound.

After the vehicles came to rest, Adams said Kietlinski had to be extricated from her SUV. She reportedly was transported to SageWest-Lander for treatment and later flown out to another facility for multiple fractures and other unknown injuries. Adams was unsure this morning where Kietlinski had been flown. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Kietlinski had a 4-year-old passenger and a 4-month-old passenger, both of whom were properly restrained. Adams said at the scene both appeared uninjured, but they were transported to the hospital for observation.

The Lander man driving the WYDOT vehicle was uninjured. The investigation into the wreck continues today. Adams said alcohol was not a factor.
