Offers leading edge treatments using state-of-the-art technology
(Fremont County, Wyo.) – SageWest Health Care announces the opening of the Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine at its Riverton hospital. The Center brings Fremont County state-of-the-art treatment and protocols to treat chronic wounds, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, bioengineered tissues and biosynthetics.
More than 8 million people in the U.S. suffer from chronic wounds of which healing has been impeded by such diseases and conditions as diabetes, obesity, aging and the late effects of radiation therapy.
Likely candidates for treatment at the new center are those suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, radiation injuries to soft tissue and bone, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and wounds that haven’t healed within 30 days.
“The services provided at the wound care clinic have been needed in our community for quite some time,” Dr. James White, board-certified general surgeon and medical director of the Center, said. “I regularly see patients in my clinic that will benefit from our treatments and am excited to work with a team of top quality, specially trained physicians to treat these patients.”
“We are incredibly excited to be able to offer this new service to patients in our communities,” Steve Erixon, CEO of SageWest, said. “And, our partnership with Healogics ensures the Center will continue to provide high quality, state-of-the-art care for patients with wound care needs.”
A member of the Healogics™ network, the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine employs a rigorous scientific approach to explore, test, find and develop the clinically proven methods and technologies which reintroduce the body’s innate ability to heal. The network, comprised of academic medical centers, hospitals and thousands of professionals, is committed to advancing wound healing by creating, sharing, and activating wound prevention and care expertise.
All health care providers at the Center receive specialized training at the Healogics™ training facility in Jacksonville, Fla., the largest program of its kind in the nation dedicated to the science of the care of wounds.
