Hazardous wind, hail and lighting storm covering Eastern Fremont County at this hour
(Riverton, Wyo.) – The National Weather Service said this afternoon that several storms could bring gusty winds and small hail across Central Wyoming this afternoon. The latest radar image, as of 1:38 p.m. is posted above. The NWS reported a strong thunderstorm was moving NE on a line NE from Jeffrey City to extreme southern Washakie County, an area that includes extreme southeastern Hot Springs County, Northwestern Natrona County and Eastern Fremont County.
According to an advisory, hail up to one-half inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected in this storm, along with heavy rain and frequent dangerous lightning. Brief heavy rain could flood low lying areas such as ditches and underpasses.
