(Lander, Wyo.) – Lander Police Chief Jim Carey said no charges will be filed in connection to yesterday’s wreck in which a passenger car struck an 11-year-old girl on a scooter. Carey said his officers’ investigations found no fault with the driver of the Chevy Malibu involved.
“It appears the scooter was in the lane of travel when they collided,” he said.
The wreck occurred at about 3:10 p.m. on North Second Street in the northbound lane. The girl was treated at the scene and then taken SageWest-Lander. Carey said she was released later that day, having sustained only minor injuries.
The vehicle, too, only had minor damage, primarily to the passenger’s side-view mirror. (Read the initial report from the scene here.)
