Blazin’ Bobcat Mileage Club breaks ground on new pathway around BCE’s playground

(Lander, Wyo.) – Yesterday, members of Baldwin Creek Elementary’s Blazin’ Bobcat Mileage Club, as well as community supporters, celebrated the groundbreaking of a new pathway around the playground.

Fourth-grade teacher Misty Atnip started the club in January 2013. “ The club completes laps at recess or during teacher-scheduled times,” she said in an email. “The laps are counted and recorded. Milestones are celebrated. This past school year over 2,300 miles were recorded.”

The old path followed the fence line around the playground, but became muddy and messy. Atnip said BCE students sold chocolate to raise funds for the project, and Precision Dirt Works will be completing the project.
