(Lander, Wyo.) – The two home invasion robbery suspects connected to an incident on May 18 outside of Lander have waived their preliminary hearings in Circuit Court.
Preliminary hearings are held to make the prosecution show a judge probable cause that the defendant is the person who committed the alleged crimes. They are the defendants’ right, and Bow Hepner, 34, of Casper, and Kelly Meehan, 25, of Gillette, have waived their preliminary.
The two will now continue through the court process in Wyoming’s Ninth District Court. An arraignment will be held at a soon-to-be determined date. At that time they will enter pleas.
Hepner is charged with Aggravated Burglary and Wrongful Taking or Disposing of Property-Aggregate. The Aggravated Burglary charge is punishable by no less than five years and no more than 50 years in prison and/or a fine up to $50,000. The other charge is also a felony with penalties of up to 10 years in prison and/or $10,000 in fines. Meehan is charged with Robbery and Wrongful Taking or Disposing of Property-Aggregate.
They both are being held on $250,000 cash bonds. Read more background on the case here.
