(Riverton, Wyo.) – City Administrator Steven Weaver said Tuesday that three candidates are finalists for the position of Public Works Director to replace the late Bill Urbigkit. None of the finalists are state residents, he said. “We did have several applications from Wyoming, but the individuals were not qualified,” he said.
Weaver declined to name the finalists on Tuesday, but he said they would be identified publicly before their final interviews, scheduled in Riverton in early June.
Dawn Willhelm, the city’s Utility Division Manger, has been the acting public works director since Urbigkit was stricken with a brain tumor and left his office July 24, 2013 for medical. He died on April 4th of this year. Urbigkit had served the city for 23 years and was also the Riverton Regional Airport Manager in addition to running the public works department.
