(Riverton, Wyo) – It was a beautiful morning Saturday in Riverton at Mountain View Cemetery. Under a clear blue sky washed fresh at Friday night’s rain, birds were chirping, colorful floral displays adorned gravesites, and dozens of volunteers were placing the flags of the United States of America on the graves of Veterans. The VFW Auxiliary was also out, marking the graves of their members.

The Memorial Day Observance at Mountain View will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Veteran’s Monument.

One of today’s volunteers was Alvino Soundingsides, 9, who is legally blind. He and his dad Renford Smith were out to volunteer with dozens of others. With Dad’s help, Alvino placed many flags Saturday morning.
