Lander home invasion suspect apprehended after leading deputies on a foot chase

(Lander, Wyo.) – Fremont County Sheriff’s Deputies have taken a home invasion suspect into custody after a 10-minute foot chase this afternoon. Bow Hepner, 34, of Casper, was wanted in connection to Sunday evening home invasion robbery near Lander. (Read more from the initial post here.)

“Hepner was located near mile post 93 on Highway 789 by a Deputy Sheriff around noon today,” Undersheriff Ryan Lee said. “He was about three miles north of the intersection of Rendezvous Road, heading south towards Lander on foot. Hepner spotted approaching Law Enforcement and began running west through farm land. Hepner led Deputies on a 10 minute foot chase before he was finally apprehended without further incident.”

Both Hepner and his accomplice Kelly Meehan of Gillette, are incarcerated at the Fremont County detention center pending charges by the Fremont County Attorney’s Office. Meehan was arrested Sunday evening shortly after the alleged crime. She reportedly fought with a deputy during her arrest while Hepner fled.

“We had a busy weekend, and this incident was out of the ordinary for Fremont County,” Lee said. “We are happy with the outcome of this investigation; no one was injured and two violent criminals are locked up.”
