(Lander, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Sheriffs Office is investigating a Home Invasion Robbery that occurred near Lander Sunday night. At the present time deputies have one subject in custody, while another remains at large.

“The Sheriff’s Office was called around 7:45 p.m. to a residence near milepost 84 on Highway 789, where it was reported that two suspects had drove to the home, contacted the occupants and began inquiring about directions to Rawlins,” Undersheriff Ryan Lee reports. “The victims attempted to give the two verbal directions, however they requested to see a map with more details, at which time they were invited into the home. At that point the man and woman held the victim’s at bay while they ransacked and stole several items from the home to include a firearm. They then fled the area heading north towards Riverton, at which point the Sheriff’s Office was called.”

Lee said County Deputies were able to get the suspect information aired quickly and the suspect vehicle was located by a Deputy on the south end of Riverton. The Deputy made contact with the vehicle, at which time the male suspect fled the area. His female companion reportedly was detained on site after a brief struggle with the Deputy Sheriff.

The female in custody has been identified as 25-year-old Kelly Meehan of Gillette. At this point she has been charged with Robbery, she is also being held for the U.S. Marshall Service regarding an outstanding Federal Warrant.

“Investigators have identified the male subject as 34-year-old Bow Hepner of Casper” Lee said. “Hepner should be considered armed and dangerous; anyone observing Hepner should contact Law Enforcement immediately by dialing 911.”

Hepner was last observed along the banks of the Little Wind River near the Smoke Shop Casino running eastbound. Deputies have been tracking and searching for the suspect since last night. The sheriff’s office’s blood hound will be assisting this morning.

Hepner is a white male, 5 foot 11 inches, 160 pounds with a shaved head. He was last observed wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and faded blue jeans.

The victim’s were not injured in the incident, which remains under investigation.
