(Lander, Wyo.) – Boys and girls 9 – 14 years old from Lander and the surrounding area will compete Tuesday, May 27 at the LVHS Fieldhouse Track in the Hershey Track and Field Youth Program.
First and Second place finishers of the Lander meet are eligible to advance to the state meet on Saturday, June 21, in Rock Springs. First place finishers at Rock Springs have a chance of being selected to a Regional Team, which will travel to Hershey, Pennsylvania, to compete in the North American Final.
Events will include the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, 4 x 100 meter relay, standing long jump, and softball throw.
The meet will start at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27. Field events will start at 1, and track events will start at 3 p.m. Registration will be taken at the track on that day from 1 p.m. – 2:45 pm and any time before that date at the Lander Parks and Recreation Office at City Park. The age group that the athlete competes in is determined by how old they are on December 31 of 2014.
