Lander sixth-graders take trips to Yellowstone to further their science studies
(Lander, Wyo.) – This year all of Lander Middle School’s sixth-graders, 119 total, got to go on trips to Yellowstone National Park. Two separate trips were taken to get all of them there.
LMS Science Teacher Gayla Hammer reports students were able to learn how the geology impacts wildlife. “Students completed activities, met with a wolf specialist and ‘saw’ places that they had learned about in school,” she said.
The students also expressed gratitude to sponsors who helped fund the trip, including a fundraiser held by the Lander McDonald’s. (Photos provided by Gayla Hammer.)
