(Riverton, Wyo.) The water service on N. 8th West between Sunset and Jackson will be temporarily shut off on Saturday, May 17th starting at 8 a.m. and lasting for about six hours.
Acting Public Works Director Dawn Willhelm said the City has chosen to shut the water off on Saturday, rather than a week day, due to Jackson School, Benchmark Dental and other businesses that would be affected and having to close.
The shut off is to replace a valve that is malfunctioning and that has resulted in very low water pressure to the area after last winter’s water main break along NorthPointe. With irrigation season now in swing, water pressures have been too low to adequately serve the area and a contractor was hired to do the work, Willhelm said.
The water will be turned on as soon as repairs are made and should not have a substantial impact on the residents in this area.
On behalf of the City of Riverton, we would like to apologize for any inconveniences and will have the water back on as soon as possible.
