(Riverton, Wyo.) – It started at 9 a.m. and goes until three today and by all appearances, a good number of job seekers sought out potential employers at a job fair at Central Wyoming College Friday.
There was a big rush at 9 a.m., including a group of high school students gathering information for a business class, and some unemployed or underemployed people looking for new opportunities. Graduating college students also stopped by Rustler Gym to check out what employers were looking for.
“It’s been a steady stream of folks through here,” said CWC’s Lori Ridgway, the director of Workforce Training there.
One job seeker was Rick Nelson of Riverton, who just closed his Stillwater Construction business due to lack of business. “I’m here looking for another career,” he said. “It’s been tough the past four years.”
Jacob Myers of Lander said he came looking for work. “I just graduated and now I’m looking for something,” he said. Myers stopped at nearly every table collecting information and talking with employers.
