(Lander, Wyo.) – A portion of Louis Lake Rd., FR300, on the Washakie Ranger District of the Shoshone National will open Memorial Day weekend. Louis Lake Rd., also known as the Loop Rd., will be open from the switchbacks to Worthen Meadows Campground and trailhead starting Friday, May 23.
To ensure public safety, the remainder of the Louis Lake Rd. will stay closed to allow the snow to melt. Pending any further weather episodes, we anticipate the remainder of Louis Lake Rd. will open in June. Further information about that opening will be released when available.
For further information about the closure, please contact the Washakie Ranger District office at 307-332-5460.
