LPD Lt. Chuck Carr retiring from the police force

(Lander, Wyo.) – Lander Police Lt. Chuck Carr is retiring from the police force to take a new job in Riverton. The department is holding a retirement party for Carr this afternoon in Lander City Hall, and revolving door of officers from various agencies are wishing him well.

Carr said he’s looking forward to his new position as head of campus security at Central Wyoming College, but he’s leaving with mixed emotions. “I’ve been doing this half my life,” he said. Carr said the relationships he’s built from his 23 years in law enforcement are like family to him.

Carr plans on continuing to live in Lander and perhaps even serve as a reserve officer for LPD. His first day on the new job is May 5.
