(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Riverton Police Department is seeing more cases of methamphetamine use in their city, which is causing concern in law enforcement circles. “We hadn’t had any for quite some time, but now all of a sudden, we’ve had multiple arrests in the past four days,” said Captain Eric Murphy Tuesday morning.

Murphy’s comments came after the RPD, Fremont County Sheriff’s Department and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation conducted one visible action on Riverview Road in Riverton last week. Court documents were not immediately available on that action, which is being coordinated through the Natrona County District Attorney’s office in Casper.

Fremont County and Prosecuting Attorney Michael Bennett told County10.com this week that he did not expect any of the recent DCI actions to be filed locally.

This post will be updated when the information becomes available.
