(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Michael Widick, 41, in connection with a home invasion April 20th in Riverton. Widick allegedly burst into a home while a family on East Monroe was decorating Easter Eggs. At the time, he said he was “going to slit everyone,” according to a sheriff’s department report.
The males in the residence were able to coax the man outside, at which time he pulled a fixed blade knife and attempted to attack one of the men several times before fleeing the area, Undersheriff Ryan Lee said in a statement. “Widick was identified by a witness in the area. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon near Fort Washakie. Widick has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault,” according to Lee’s statement.
Widick’s home address is listed as Riverton.
