Family Practice physician moves to Riverton to expand medical services available in Fremont County

Dr. Joe Turner joins Riverton Memorial Hospital

(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Riverton Memorial Hospital (RMH) is pleased to announce that Joe Turner, M.D., has joined its staff and will be offering primary care services to patients throughout Fremont County. Dr. Turner brings more than 20 years of clinical experience to Fremont County and is one of three new physicians to begin practice in Fremont County this year.

“Dr. Turner has experience in treating a range of medical conditions, and he is an excellent addition to our medical staff,” said Steve Erixon, CEO of RMH and Lander Regional Hospital. “Access to primary care is an increasing concern in our community, and Dr. Turner’s expertise will be important as our hospitals strive to meet our region’s evolving health care needs.”

Dr. Turner joins RMH from Ochsner Clinic and Turner Medical Clinic, both in Louisiana, where he practiced for more than 20 years.

Dr. Turner graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, and completed his residency in family practice at Washington-St. Tammany Charity Hospital in Bogalusa, La. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
