(Lander, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Commission will get recommendations for awarding the campground improvements at Green Mountain.

Part of the renovations will be to make the road at the base of the mountain into an actual loop. The goal, Fremont County Recreation Commission Chair Cade Maestas said at a meeting last November, would be to utilize as much of the existing infrastructure as possible.

There will be pull through RV sites and upgrades to existing tent sites. Maestas said the existing outhouse would be upgraded to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. A second outhouse would be added. The RV sites would remain primitive with no services provided.

The plan also includes adding pipe corrals for hunters and their horses. Trash receptacles were upgraded last year. Three bear-proof containers were installed following problems with a black bear.

The bid award is scheduled for 10 a.m. in the county commission’s chambers at the courthouse in Lander. The meeting starts at 9 a.m.
