(Cheyenne, Wyo.) – Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Director, Todd Parfitt has named Luke Esch as the new administrator for the Solid and Hazardous Waste Division (SHWD).

Esch is currently the administrator for the Industrial Siting Division within DEQ and will now oversee both divisions.

The SHWD administrator oversees the divisions coordination of solid and hazardous waste management permitting, compliance and remediation activities.  Mr. Esch will officially begin his new role on Monday February 17, 2014.

“Luke brings to the division a broad and comprehensive knowledge of environmental programs including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act,” said Parfitt. “Luke also brings proven leadership and communication skills to the division.”

Esch graduated with a Bachelor’s in Agricultural Business from Colorado State University and received his law degree from the University of Wyoming.  Prior to coming to the DEQ, Mr. Esch was a Senior Assistant Attorney General at the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office.
