(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Here is the Wednesday’s law enforcement round-up from across Fremont County. All those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
Lander Police Department
A report of a sexual assault is under investigation.
At 2:21 p.m., police were called to the 600 block of North Ninth Street for a report of scratches on a vehicle. LPD Chief Jim Carey said the report is part of an ongoing situation.
At 6:10 p.m., officers were called to the 60 block of Market Street for a report of a person destroying property with a shovel. There was a disagreement between two parties over dog feces and who was supposed to clean up what. No property damage was located. A little more than two hours later police were called back because of a fight between the two parties. No charges were filed.
At 6:38 p.m., police were called by a man who said his daughter was stabbed with a pencil earlier in the day while on the school bus. The pencil did not break the skin, but there was a mark. The report is still being handled by the school resource officer.
At 9:45 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Amoretti Street after a resident reported someone tried to open the door. Soon after the suspect left a pickup truck left the area. Officers did find evidence of someone having been on the porch, but who it was is unknown at this time.
A truck driver parked in the McDonald’s lot called police after 10 p.m. about some kids peaking under the tarp of his trailer. When officers arrived, the truck was already gone.
Riverton Police Department
Jody Blackburn, 33, Riverton, Municipal Warrant.
Newell Duran, 48, Casper, Municipal Warrant.
Shane Boren, 35, Riverton, Domestic Battery.
A 26-year-old Riverton man was cited for Criminal Trespass.
At 8:37 a.m., a caller reported seeing a 5-year-old boy out walking in the area of the 1100 Riverview Road. Police determined the boy was attempting to walk from his parents’ home to his grandmother’s home. The family was notified, as was Department of Family Services.
At 5:20 p.m., police spoke with a man on the 800 block of East Main Street about some medications that were either missing or stolen.
At 8:12 p.m., police were notified about a gas drive-off at the Loaf N Jug, totaling $14. Capt. CT Smith said officers were unable to locate the vehicle, but they do have some suspect info.
At 8:54 p.m., officers responded to the area of the 900 block of North Broadway for a report of two or three people in a vehicle passing something around along with a lighter. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
Shortly after 9 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Eagle Drive for a couple neighbors in a dispute. The argument at the time was verbal only, but earlier this morning police were called back for a report of one of the parties at the Riverton Memorial Hospital claiming to have injuries from an assault. The report was not yet complete.
Fremont County Sheriff’s Office
Christina Callender, 27, Gillette, Campbell County Warrant, No Interlock Device and Driving Under Suspension.
Shane Duran, 28, Riverton, Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under Suspension, and Driving Roadways Laned for Traffic.
A theft report is under investigation. Information about the call was not immediately released.
Deputies took a report of cows on Eight Mile Road on Tuesday afternoon.
At 2:42 a.m. on Wednesday, deputies took a report of an intoxicated man causing problems at a home near Riverton.
