(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Here is Fridays report of law enforcement activity around the county. Those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Fremont County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests:

Ernest Oldman, 30, Riverton, Two counts of Felony Domestic Violence Battery, misdemeanor Domestic Violence Battery and Probation Revocation. See this separate story about his arrest.

Calls:

At 3 p.m., deputies were called to a location in the Dubois area for a civil issue. The caller said she bought a car from a person who had not paid off the loan, but the caller paid cash and has a bill of sale.

A woman at about 3:30 p.m. reported a hit and run that occurred off Highway 789 near Riverton. The caller said there were witnesses to the crash. The report is under investigation.

 

Lander Police Department

Arrests:

Bryan Sanchez, 29, Lander, unspecified warrants.

Tara Skiba, 40, Lander, Driving Under the Influence, Assault and Battery, Property Destruction and Trespassing.

Calls:

Lander Police responded to 19 calls for service on Thursday. LPD was unable to meet with media to discuss call details today.

 

Riverton Police Department

Arrests:

Cole Boyd, 18, Riverton, Domestic Battery, Underage Consumption of Alcohol. Police were called to the 400 block of Elizabeth Driver after Boyd allegedly pushed the mother of his child, a 17-year-old Riverton teen, to the ground.

Leo Duran, 19, Riverton, on two Fremont County warrants and Novita Jarvis, 28, Lander, on a Fremont County warrant. The pair were arrested following a traffic stop at 1:55 p.m. in the 400 block of North Federal.

Clowry Means, 47, Arapahoe, Public Intoxication

Edward SoundingSides, 29, Riverton, on a Fremont County warrant and Interfering with a Peace Officer. SoundingSides was contacted at 6:27 p.m. on the warrant and tried to flee from police, but he was caught in the 2300 block of East Adams Avenue.

Calls:

A graveyard worker called police at 9:21 Thursday to complain that those in neighboring apartments were making noise and that he could not sleep. The complaint came from the 800 block of Independence. It is possible that the neighbors did not know that the man worked a night shift. A report was taken.

Police were called when an individual allegedly made a threat against a Riverton woman via Facebook that her bank account would be hacked. A report was taken.

A follow-up investigation is underway into a reported case of vandalism that came in to the RPD at 11:01 a.m. Damage in the amount of $439 was reported to the vehicle.

Two fights were reported at Riverton High School at 11:13 a.m. Reports were not completed.

A resident on Bridger Drive reported a possible harassment at 11:07 a.m. after a vehicle parked near their residence and appeared to be watching their home.

A traffic hazard was reported at 1:35 p.m. Thursday when a brown Ford truck headed south of Broadway was seen to be dragging a construction cone under its vehicle. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

A two vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of North Broadway and East Sunset at 1:37 p.m. involving a red 2003 Chevrolet pickup and a tan 2006 Ford pickup. Damage was estimated over $1,000.

The wind allegedly caught a car door being opened which slammed the door into an adjacent parked car at Central Wyoming College at 2:12 p.m. There was minor damage.

Police have forwarded a report to the county attorney’s office after an individual reported their former spouse had presented an obscene hand gesture toward them. The act would be a violation of a protection order against the former spouse.
