(Lander, Wyo.) – The Lander City Council on Tuesday evening finalized some slight changes to water and sewer regulations.
Before the rate changes late last year, when people were away and not using water, despite not having their water service turned off, they were charged no usage or distribution fees. In the initial round of changes, a charge of the minimum water allowance and sewer rates were to be applied.
However, this ordinance amendment changes it so no direct water consumption fees are assessed, but only the amount the city needs in order to pay debt service. Those minimum charges are now $24.97 per month for water and $2.48 per month for sewer.
The changes also clarifies the process of tenants taking over bill payments from their landlords.
Tuesday night was the third and final reading, and it passed unanimously. Mayor Mick Wolfe was the only one not in attendance.
