(Fremont County,  Wyo.) – Here is the weekend’s law enforcement recap from around the county. All those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Fremont County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests:

Mykenzie Carpenter-Lott, 19, Casper, Probation Revocation Warrant.

Matthew Snyder, 33, Dubois, Failure to Appear Warrant.

Trey Stinnette, 29, Riverton, Campbell County Warrant.

Calls:

At 9:32 a.m., a man on Eight Mile Road reported a neighbor’s chickens came onto his property and pooped all over. The chickens were retrieved by the owner.

At 4:15 p.m., a woman on the 1700 block of Hilcrest near Lander reported that a group of teenagers in a car were stopped in the middle of the road, texting. The caller reported that the teens flipped her an inappropriate gesture as she drove around them.

A report of possible child abuse or neglect in the Saint Stephen’s area is under investigation.

At 8:10 a.m. on Saturday, deputies were called to Jeffrey City for a report of possibly intoxicated or high subjects who got a ride to the Split Rock Cafe. Deputies determined everyone to be OK.

At 3:59 p.m., deputies took a report of a Pit Bull that attacked a German Shepherd in the Gardens North Subdivision. The owner of the attacking dog was cited, and the victim dog was OK.

Deputies on Saturday afternoon took a report of computer fraud in Pavillion.

“Two dogs attacked each other in the Cozy Mobile Home Park Saturday evening, resulting in the owner of one dog stabbing the other dog to death in order to stop the altercation,” Undersheriff Ryan Lee said. “The incident took place in the middle of the street. The complete investigation will be forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office as some point; charges may or may not be filed against either dog owner.”

At 1:44 a.m. on Sunday, deputies helped out some subjects whose vehicle was stuck on Atlantic City Road. The subjects were given a ride to Lander.

At 4:02 p.m., deputies were called to Warm Valley Baptist Church in Pavillion for a report of a juvenile boy next door who came out in the morning at shot toward children with a BB gun. Investigation into the incident is ongoing, pending contact with the juvenile and parents.

 

Lander Police Department

Arrests:

Kenneth Calvert, 52, Lander, Accessory After the Fact and Interference. Katie Eagleroad, 32, Lander, Interference, Shoplifting and Possession of a Controlled Substance. At 12:21 p.m. on Friday, police were called to Safeway for a report by an off-duty deputy that witnessed a woman leave the store with a cart full of groceries., LPD Chief Jim Carey said. Based on description information provided by the deputy, officer’s located the suspect vehicle, along with Calvert and Eagleroad at a residence on the 400 block of Washington Street. A small amount of items, makings for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, were recovered, but the full cartload was not, Carey said. Eagleroad, upon arrest, was found to be in illegal possession of prescription medications. During the investigation, a 6-year-old and a 7-year-old were taken into protective custody.

Kelly Baker, 27, Lander, cited Shoplifting. Investigation is continuing into a shoplifting Friday afternoon at Ace Hardware. More than $160 in items was taken, including a pellet gun. A second suspect is being sought.

John George, 68, Rock Springs, Driving Under the Influence. Carey said George was pulled over at 8:18 p.m. on Friday on MacFarlane Drive for failing to maintain his lane of travel. He was found to have a .14 BAC. The legal limit for operating a motor vehicle is .08 BAC.

Nathaniel Wallowingbull, 24, Ethete, LPD Warrant, No Proof of Insurance and Driving under Suspension. An LPD Officer made contact with Wallowingbull on Custer Street on Saturday afternoon after he thought he observed a child standing in the front seat. The child turned out to be a coat on a hangar, but Carey reports that Wallowingbull turned himself in for having outstanding warrants.

Sherrie Niemeier, 49, Hudson, Possession of Marijuana, No Insurance, Driving under Suspension and Expired Registration. At 4:09 p.m. on Saturday, police pulled over Niemeier’s truck near City Park for expired registration. Carey said she was found to be in possession of two grams of marijuana and a used cardboard pipe. She was arrested.

Calls:

A 65-year-old Lander man was cited for Improper Backing following a backing wreck on 200 block of Main Street on Friday morning..

Fireworks reported on the 1100 block of North Second Street at 10:55 p.m. on Friday were unable to be verified.

At 8:34 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to a residence on North Second for a report of a possible burglary. Carey said officers located a broken window at the residence, but they were unable to tell if anyone entered the home or not. No items were reported missing.

At 10:01 p.m. on Saturday, officers were called to the 400 block of North Fourth Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area that the caller thought might be an unwanted acquaintance. Police determined the man was not who the caller thought he was and there was nothing suspicious.

Officers were called to the alley on the 600 block of Washakie Street for a report of suspicious people unloading things out of a vehicle at about midnight Saturday evening. Police arrived and found no one in the area, but an apartment appeared to be under construction.

A fighting couple reported just after midnight on Sunday on the 800 block of Canyon Street were separated by the time officers arrived. No Charges have been filed at this time.

At 11:54 a.m. on Sunday, police were called to South Third Street by an anonymous caller who was concerned about an officer spotlighting cars in the area of a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. Carey said the officer was on routine patrol and was not specifically doing surveillance with a marked police car on NA meeting attendees’ vehicles.
