(Riverton, Wyo.) – The National Weather Serivice Office in Riverton reported that Fremont County was not impacted as much as other ares of Central and Western Wyoming when an Arctic Cold Front passed through the area on Sunday. The most snowfall occurred near Casper and the windiest areas were in the northern Big Horn Basin.

Here is the NWS summary of snowfall and wind speeds:

SNOWFALL AND WIND REPORTS FROM SUNDAY

A STRONG COLD FRONT BROUGHT SHARPLY COLDER TEMPERATURES…STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS…AND SOME SNOWFALL EAST OF THE DIVIDE SUNDAY. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL OCCURRED OVER CASPER MOUNTAIN SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING WHERE 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW FELL. THE STRONGEST WINDS OCCURRED OVER JOHNSON COUNTY AND IN THE NORTHERN BIG HORN BASIN SUNDAY MORNING INTO EARLY AFTERNOON. BELOW ARE PRELIMINARY SNOWFALL AND WIND REPORTS THAT OCCURRED SUNDAY.
