(Lander, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Commission on Tuesday will work throughout much of the day with other county elected officials and department heads to get an early start on the budget season.

The idea to hold a lengthy work session on the topic was decided last week as the commission considered a calendar for the many budget hearings it will have from April through June.

The focus of the work session as of last week was determined to be about how to address any salary or compensation increases. Commissioner Stephanie Kessler said the commission should provide a “transparent and consistent” framework for how department head should prepare salaries in their budgets for the 2014-15 Fiscal Year.

Discussions with elected officials are expected to start at 9 a.m. in the Fremont County Commission’s chambers at the Fremont County Courthouse in Lander. After a noon lunch break, the the commission is expected to resume with department heads.
