(Lander, Wyo.) – The Lander City Council is exploring the idea of allowing fireworks not only on every Fourth of July but also every New Year’s Eve.
Mayor Mick Wolfe and Council President Nancy Pieropan both said in interviews that the general consensus in Tuesday’s work session was to go ahead and allow fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
Pieropan said she warned the council that the most of the same concerns and complaints that come with July Fourth will likely be present with the winter date as well.
Wolfe said the timeframe being considered for New Year’s Eve fireworks is 4 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. the next morning.
Allowing fireworks at every turn of the year will require formal action on behalf of the council; the matter has not yet been scheduled for a regular council meeting.
