(Cheyenne, Wyo.) – Persons looking for information on winter survival techniques and cold weather safety are invited to Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site, February 8, from 10 a.m. until noon.

The event provides a basic introduction to winter camping and survival techniques with demonstration on cold weather safety, equipment and gear, shelter and fire instruction and avalanche safety.

The demonstrations are provided by Medicine Lodge staff and members of South Big Horn County Search and Rescue.

There is no charge for the event but participants are asked to RSVP by Feb. 5 either by phone or Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/301657593292715/.

Those planning to attend are reminded to dress warmly as the event will be held outside. Prizes and hot chocolate will be provided to participants.
