(Lander, Wyo.) – Fremont County School District 1 Board of Education received a clean audit report for Fiscal Year 2013, the board learned last night.
Porter, Muirhead, Cornia, & Howard’s auditor Jim Dodson gave the board its annual report during Tuesday night’s meeting.
“You get a straight A report card,” Dodson told the board.
Superintendent Mike Bowman in a follow-up interview said the take away was that the school district ran in the black this year, with revenues exceeding expenses. The district’s general fund revenues totaled $25.5 million with expenditures topping out at just under $25 million. This is a change over last year where expenditures barely exceeded revenues.
With an Average Daily Membership for the last school year of 1,648, this means the district pulled in $15,475 per student and spent $15,145 each.
Of last year’s expenditures, 60.5 percent was on instruction. General support constituted 29.8 percent, instructional support 9 percent and capital outlay/debt service at .63 percent.
Dodson spent time going over the auditing standards and methods his team used and informed the board that they found zero compliance issues.
