(Lander, Wyo.) – Gannett Peak Elementary School students’s Pushups for Uganda event last Friday resulted in raising $1,128.87 to send to a fresh water program for the African country, Third-Grade Teacher Jamie Franzen announced today.

“Thank you all so much for all of your support and generosity,” Franzen said in an email to those who participated. “You are all kindness heroes!  We did a Skype call yesterday morning with the kiddos in the orphanages in Uganda, and I can honestly tell you that what you all have done is so positively affecting the world…”

As a whole, the school strove to do 10,000 pushups to raise money for the RainCatcher.org program. RainCatcher Ambassador Tyson Mayr came to Lander to do pushups with the students.
