(Fremont County,  Wyo.) – Here is Thursday’s law enforcement recap from around the county over the weekend. All those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Fremont County Sheriff’s Office


Joseph Arthur, 36, Riverton, Breach of Peace. At 2:04 a.m. on Thursday, a juvenile male called deputies to report his uncle and grandmother were fighting. Deputies separated the parties and took Arthur to detox. He was later arrested there for causing a disturbance.

Jerry Hines, 56, Riverton, Driving Under the Influence.

Sherman Quiver, 30, Ethete, Interference with Police and Resisting Arrest.

Nathan Surrell, 27, Hudson, False Imprisonment, Interference with Police and Bond Violation. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office has not yet returned requests for additional information on this arrest.


At 8:41 a.m. on Wednesday, a caller in Kinnear reported that a vehicle hit a building and left the scene sometime between 5:30 a.m. and the time of the call. The report is under investigation.

At 11:39 a.m., deputies were called by the Fremont County Group Home in Riverton for a report of a boy who attempted to break into a truck to steal a pack of cigarettes on Sunday.

A fraud report in the Riverton area is under investigation.

Deputies took a report of a girl at the Lander group home taking clothes from other girls. Later deputies took a report of marijuana brought into the home.

At 4:53 p.m., deputies were called to the 900 block of East Monroe by a man who said a cow got loose from the fairground. When the owners got tired of chasing the cow they reportedly shot it while the caller’s 3-year-old son watched. The sheriff’s office reports that all parties were talked to and no action was taken.

At 5:18 p.m., a woman called deputies to the Hudson dump. She reported that she picked up bloodied woman who told her she was assaulted. The report is under investigation and additional details were not readily available.

At 7:16 p.m., deputies were called to a home in the Cozy Court Trailer court near Riverton for a report of a possible burglary. Investigation determined the wind blew the back door open.

At 6:20 p.m., deputies were called to Hudson for a report of an older man in a white Dodge truck going door to door telling people that there is red stuff in the water. The caller said the man was intoxicated. Deputies were unable to locate him.


Lander Police Department


Roland Cox, 26, Lander, cited for Shoplifting.

Seth Lebeau, 30, Lander, cited for Simple Assault and Criminal Entry. Michael Pingatore, 28, Lander, cited for Criminal Entry and Trespass. He was later arrested for Assault and Battery, Public Intoxication and Property Destruction. Lebeau and Pingatore were originally cited after a 7:36 p.m. call on Washington Street. Pingatore’s arrest came after a 9:31 p.m. call on South Fourth Street. Additional details were not readily available.


Lander Police responded to 16 calls for service Wednesday into Thursday morning. LPD was unable to meet with County10 about call details.


Riverton Police Department


Jeffrey Baxter, 55, Riverton, Domestic Violence Battery.

Steven Huntley, 23, Riverton, Driving Under the Influence.
