(Riverton, Wyo.) – The 7th grade Career Exploration class at Riverton Middle School this morning learned about media and County10.com’s digital news service in Wyoming.

Instructor Lonnie Adams said students attending the class were exploring careers that they found interesting and were anxious to learn about the education and skills required for the various careers.

County10.com Managing Editor Ernie Over spent an hour with the students in a question and answer format talking about journalism, journalists and opportunities in the media field. Over related that journalists are story tellers, in words and photographs, but the stories they tell are true and accurate and backed up with facts. He said journalists acquire information from many sources, including personal and primary contacts and, especially true today, from social media.

Nearly all of the students in Mr. Adam’s class said they had cell phones, computers or tablets and used them to access news.
