The Fremont County Coroner shares space with the county’s public health and emergency management offices this Riverton building.

(Riverton, Wyo.) – A preliminary autopsy finding indicated the cause of death of six month old Nova Rose Hocking of Riverton to be asphyxia, according to Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan. The infant’s body was autopsied in Colorado on Thursday. The baby was found dead at her home on New Years Day.

“We will need the final report to confirm the preliminary, but there is nothing suspicious indicated. We just need to find out what happened,” McAuslan said. The coroner said the test results should be available in four to six weeks.
