(Riverton, Wyo.) – A Christmas light display featured on County10.com last week was the victim of a vandal when a person or persons unknown removed one of the lighted features on the yard in the 600 block of East Adams. The missing decoration is one of “Snoopy” the dog from the Charlie Brown cartoon series.
“Snoopy was located in the middle of our yard and whoever took it was intentional in selecting him. He was not at all near the front,” said Kathleen Marinell. ”He is a lighted, animated piece about 2 feet tall, dressed with a Santa tunic and hat, and we have had him for several years now. He happens to be one of my favorites and not really replaceable as we have noticed that we haven’t seen one quite like him around of late.”
Marinell said said her family “was so happy to be included in your article featuring Christmas yard displays” and she said “we were delighted to see cars driving by and slowing down in our neighborhood to enjoy our display. In truth we put this up for all to enjoy. While we do this every year, we change it up slightly.”
She said the decoration had one missing eye, that came out when they were brushing snow off of it.
“If anyone has recently acquired an awesome Snoopy display with a missing eye or sees one in their neighbor’s yard, we sure would appreciate it being returned. They can just put it on our doorstep…no questions asked,” Marinell said. The address is 613 East Adams. “We know sometimes it is hard to resist such a temptation but it would mean everything to us to have him returned safely.”
