(Lander, Wyo.) – Lander’s high school students were out about this afternoon, the last day before Christmas break, for the first ever Giving Day.
The students, donning Tiger green santa hats, volunteered throughout the community.
While some sang carols along Main Street, others played with second- and third-graders at Gannett Peak Elementary during recess. While some rang bells for the Salvation Army in front of various businesses, others sorted items in the United Methodist Thrift Shop warehouse.
Some of the other projects were: Westward Heights volunteering, working at Lander Pet Connection, Game and Fish Department work, community cleanup in Ft. Washakie, shovel walks, and making Christmas ornaments for trees auctioned off to benefit the Lander Volunteer Fire Department and Fathers in the Field.
