(Lander, Wyo.) On Wednesday afternoon, a Fremont County School District 1 school bus was involved in a personal injury wreck near Lander Middle School.
Lander Police Chief Jim Carey said Larry Kaiser, 72, of Lander, was driving the bus when it was northbound on North Eighth Street and turned left onto Jefferson Street, striking the driver’s side of an oncoming passenger car in the intersection. Kaiser was cited for Failure to Grant Right of Way.
There were 19 middle school students on the bus at the time of the wreck, Carey said, however none were injured and neither was Kaiser.
The two occupants of the Honda passenger car, an adult female driver and a 13-year-old female passenger, were transported to Lander Regional Hospital for injuries and were later released, Carey said. He did not know of either’s condition as of Friday morning.
The wreck, which was reported at 2:40 p.m. caused more than $1,000 in damage.
Fremont County School District 1 Superintendent Michael Bowman declined to comment about the wreck.
