(Dubois, Wyo.) – At the Fremont County Museums Board meeting on Thursday, Dubois Museum Director Katrina Krupicka Dingman tendered her resignation.

Krupicka Dingman confirmed to that her resignation was effective at the end of the month.

“The recent actions and decisions of the Fremont County Museums Board indicate to me the trustees no longer hold the same vision as I do for the Dubois Museum,” she said, declining to comment further.

Acting Board Chairman Jon Lane confirmed that the board accepted her resignation with regret with three positive votes. Lane said Trustee Tom Duncan abstained. The fifth seat on the board remains unfilled following Stephen Banks’s resignation from the board in November.

“Certainly it was unexpected, and it was unsolicited,” Lane said.

He said Krupicka Dingman’s resignation gives him pause to reflect on the board’s actions.

At the end of the month as she leaves her post, all three county museums will be director-less. The museums board is in the process of seeking a central director. The first candidate was greeted by a few members of the public on Monday, and another meet and greet with a second candidate is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday at the Pioneer Museum in Lander.
