(Riverton, Wyo.) – A break in the bitter cold temperatures is starting today, according to the National Weather Service Forecast office in Riverton. But it comes with a price. According to the NWS, “A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 AM today for very strong winds across the Cody Foothills. Breezy winds will be the main story today, with winds gusting up to 50-60 MPH, mainly along the divide and from Rock Springs to Casper. These breezy winds could bring areas of blowing and drifting snow, along with some cold wind chills. A weak clipper system will push across the region again today, bringing chances for light snow and flurries across the west, north, and portions of the east. Little new snow accumulation is expected. A warming trend will begin today, and continue through the week.”
