There are always outstanding performances on the field in Wyoming prep football. Here are some of the highlights from the 7th Week of football.
Week 7 Keep in mind these are from stats submitted by schools around the state. There are some schools that do not submit information, therefore, they are not included in Peak Preps. Also, games on Monday were not included in the Peak Preps calculations, but, coaches were asked to submit Monday great performances.
Rushing: Trevor Rice, HEM, 282 yards and 17 carries and 6 TD’s. Kasen Filbert of Buffalo ran for 266 yards on 33 attempts and scored twice. RJ Seaman of HEM ran for 231 on 20 tries with 4 TD’s. Shane Brooks of East ran the ball 18 times for 210 yards and 6 touchdowns for the Thunderbirds. Cokeville’s James Teichert ran 9 times for 207 yards and 2 scores against Burlington. Sterling Baker ran 9 times and scored 7 against Snake River going for 188 yards.
Passing: WIHS QB Trevor Williamson was 12 of 16 for 387 yards and 4 td’s against Farson. KW’s Marcus Nolan stepped back under center for the Trojans and was 23 of 35 for 327 yards and 4 td’s. He was picked three times. Roye Mercer of Riverside was 20 of 35 for 246 and 4 td’s and an INT. Austyn Matthews of Douglas tossed 11 of 22 for 242 and 4 scores and 1 INT. Greybull’s Calder Forcella was 123 of 39 for 222 and 3 scores.
Recieving: Jovan Wesaw of Wyoming Indian caught 5 passes for 184 and 2 scores. Chee Stiffarm, also of WIHS, caught 5 for 176 and 2 scores. Turner Hiatt of Kelly Walsh caught 6 for 149 and 2 td’s. Kody Palmer of Rawlins caught 7 for 101 and a score while Kason Clutter of Greybull caught 11 for 101 yards. Ethan Sherburne of Riverside and Carter Johnson of Meeteetse each had 3 TD catches.
Defense: Kelton Broadhead of Farson put up 41 defensive points vs Wyoming Indian. He tallied 13.5 tackles and had 2 INT’s. Peter-John Bennett of Kaycee racked up 39 points with 14.5 tackles. Kaden Mcelhinny of Worland had 36 points with 17.5 tackles while Austin Quynn had 36 with 13.5 tackles. Stormy Roy of Wright had 35.5 points with 16.5 tackles. Central’s Tatyon Montgomery had 3 interceptions vs KW, Robert Dilsaver of South had two against Rock Springs. Tanner Galey had 2 for KW against Central.
All Purpose Yards: Trevor Williamson of Wyoming Indian accounted for 518 yards on 28 attempts. Trevor Rice of HEM had 447 on 25 touches and scored 45 points. Marcus Nolan of KW was good for 346 for the Trojans on 44 touches. Calder Forcella of Greybull had 307 on 55 attempts while Austin Fort of Gillette had 305 yards on 25 touches.
Scoring: Sterling Baker of Dubois scored 48, Trevor Rice of HEM had 45. Brady Esquibel of Guernsey had 36 as did Shane Brooks of Cheyenne East. Tucker Even of Midwest scored 26 along with Landon Bradshaw of Lyman.
Great Games: Austin Fort of Gillette ran 5 times for 147 yards and two scores. He threw 10 of 20 for 158 and another TD. WIHS qb Trevor Williamson ran for 131 yards and 2 scores while throwing for 387 yards on 12 of 16 passes and 4 td’s. Cokeville’s Jace Peterson ran 10 times for 114 yards and 3 scores. He passed 3 for 6 for 84 yards and a TD.
