(Riverton and Lander, Wyo.) – Fremont Therapy Group is pleased to honor physical therapists, Courtney Hansen, MPT and Kim Asbell, MPT, and physical therapist assistant, Bree Martinsen, PTA for their 15 years of dedication to us. All three therapists have made significant contributions to our company, their patients, the community and the physical therapy profession.
“We couldn’t be more proud to have such a long history with these phenomenal women,” said Brent Kaufman, co-owner of Fremont Therapy Group. “They are some of the most dedicated, skilled and caring people you could know.”
Courtney and Kim had a connection before coming to Fremont Therapy Group. The two therapists were classmates while completing their masters program in physical therapy at the University of Utah. Kim, a Lander native, returned to the community as a newlywed, married to high school sweetheart Carl Asbell.
After completing an internship and accepting a full-time position with us, Kim encouraged Courtney to interview for another open position.
Courtney often refers to a phone call she made to Kim, as she considering a position in California, when Kim insisted that she interview first with Fremont Therapy Group. So, like any good friend would, she rearranged her plans, and came to Wyoming for an interview.
Kim also made another important connection as she introduced Courtney to her long-time friend Ron Hansen. Courtney and Ron were married in 2001.
Bree Martinsen, was one of the first graduates of CWC’s physical therapy assistant program, and joined our organization shortly thereafter. Bree is pictured in this post with her son Treyton, who was just months from being born when Bree joined us. She has special training and interest in treating children with a variety of genetic disorders and traumatic brain injuries.
Fast-forward 15 years and you see all three women well established in our community, raising families, and highly-respected as professionals in the field of physical therapy.
“Courtney faithfully commuted to work in the Riverton clinic for 8 years,” said Scott Phister, co-owner of Fremont Therapy, “She now works full-time in the Lander clinic, and has broadened her skills to include Women’s Health Physical Therapy, Manual therapy and works with a variety of manual therapy techniques. She is also an active supporter of high-school athletics. Courtney attends high school athletic events and consults with coaches and athletes in the Lander clinic to assess their injuries and evaluate safe participation.”
Kim and Bree primarily work with school-aged children in their academic setting, although they frequently fills-in for other therapists in our Lander clinic. Kim is also active in our community, having played a major role in establishing the Cornerstone Christian School.
