(Gillette, Wyo.) - The Wyoming State Bar has awarded former Wyoming Governor Michael J. Sullivan the 2013 President’s Award. John Cotton, Wyoming State Bar Immediate Past President, and Wyoming State Bar Counsel Mark Gifford presented the award last week during the Bar’s Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference in Gillette. The President’s Award is given to a member of the Wyoming State Bar who has demonstrated exemplary leadership, integrity and service.
Sullivan is a former two-term governor of Wyoming, and served as U.S. Ambassador to Ireland under the Clinton and Bush administrations. He also facilitated U.S. support for the Good Friday Agreement. After completing his second term as governor in 1994, he held a fellowship at the Institute of Politics, the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Mike is also the recipient of the Wyoming National Guard’s Distinguished Service Medal, the University of Wyoming and University of Wyoming College of Law’s Outstanding Alumnus Awards.
