(Lander, Wyo.) – This Friday is Lander Valley High School’s first home football game of the season, and it also happens to be Homecoming.
Throughout the week, high school students will be celebrating the annual homecoming festivities with themed dress days. Monday is Jersey Day, Tuesday is Classy Day, Wednesday is Bad Hair Day, Thursday is Superhero/Villain Day and Friday is Bleed Green.
Student Council Advisor Matthew Parsons said classes will be competing in a new event this year. “The LVHS Student Council is creating a Spirit Stick that Mr. (Brad) Neundorf will hide around the community for students to find based on clues,” he said. “The classes are competing with each other in order to have a BBQ lunch.”
The homecoming pep rally and parade are Friday. The rally will be held shortly before 1 p.m., followed by the annual parade through downtown Lander at 1:30 p.m. This year’s route differs slightly from past years. The parade goes from the high school, right on Main all the way to South Sixth street, up South Sixth to Gannett Peak Elementary, around GPS (the bus loop), and ends on South Fifth street.
The Marching Band Tail Gate begins at 5 p.m. at the stadium. Hamburgers or hot dogs with chips, beans and dessert will be available for $6.
This year’s game is against Jackson High School and will start at 7 p.m.
