(Fort Washakie, Wyo.) – This morning’s Walk to Remember in Fort Washakie drew a parade of roughly 100 walkers to help raise awareness for suicide prevention.
The walk started at about 10:30 a.m. from Hines General Store and went to Rocky Mountain Hall, where the event culminated for prayers, a cedaring and lunch.
“We remember those lost to suicide and pray for families to heal from the loss of their loved one,” states a news release about the event. “Suicide is a social issue that affects us all. We walk in recognition of the importance to raise awareness for suicide prevention with community support.”
The event was put on by The Eastern Shoshone Suicide Prevention Program.
