(Cheyenne, Wyo.) – Two people previously arrested in Lander were sentenced in the U.S. District Court in Cheyenne earlier this week.
David Mickael Gehl, 26, of Fort Washakie, was sentenced by Chief Federal District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal on Sept. 9 for unlawful user of controlled substance in possession of a firearm. Gehl was arrested in Lander. He received 37 months imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Edgar Ismael Martinez-Suarez, 25, of Mexico, was sentenced by Chief Federal District Court Judge Freudenthal on Sept. 12 for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Martinez-Suarez was arrested in Lander. He received time served, plus ten days, was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and is subject to deportation upon release from custody. This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
