(Riverton, Wyo.) – The dedication of a memorial to the late Command Sergeant Major Kevin Griffin, a Riverton native who was killed in Afghanistan last year will be held this Wednesday at noon. The ceremony is planned for the Riverton Veteran’s Memorial behind City Hall off of the Rails to Trails Pathway. Governor Matt Mead will attend and speak, as will Brigadier General Kathy Wright and Mayor Ron Warpness.
The dedication will be done by Ken Persson, CSM, retired.
Griffin was killed in the line of duty on August 8, 2012. A 24-year-veteran of the U.S. Army, Griffin was born and raised in Riverton and was graduated from high school here with the class of 1985.
