(Dubois, Wyo.) – The Wind River Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest will be allowing through traffic to travel in the vicinity of the Burroughs Fire on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. FS Road #258 (Double Cabin Rd) and FS Road #511 (Brent Creek Rd) will be open for travel with the following restrictions being strictly enforced:
- Both roads will be closed to all traffic from 6:00am to 8:00am and 8:00pm to 10:00pm daily; this will allow for safe passage of fire traffic and personnel.
- No stopping or camping will be allowed in the Burroughs Fire closure area, which remains in effect.
- Fire conditions can change quickly, so possible evacuations and closures could occur with short notice. This may mean that travelers may have to remain in place if the roads are impacted by fire.
The primary objectives on this fire remain public and firefighter safety as well as reducing the threat to and minimizing damage to private property and structures located within and adjacent to the Forest boundary.
